CAMPING IN NATIONAL PARKSMN state parks and recreation area campsites require a reservation and charge an add’l reservation fee (no add’l fee for same-day reservations). The required MN State Park Vehicle Pass is included in your camper van rental.

Camping is also available at many state and national forests. Unlike state park campgrounds, forest campgrounds do not have resident managers, organized nature programs, or modern facilities such as showers and flush toilets. Individual campsites cannot be reserved but are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Campsite fees are pre-paid in a drop-box. Dispersed camping where allowed is free.
